Promoting Visual Arts in Atlanta
The three-week citywide art event began with the ARThouse[06] party
on Wednesday, January 25 and doesn't stop until ARThouse[06] closes
its doors on Sunday, February 12. In between, Atlanta will come
alive with Citywide Gallery Openings, educational art seminars and
lectures, the High Museum's Andrew Wyeth exhibit, a children's day
in the galleries and the always exciting Art Papers Art Auction.
Featured Highlights Include:
Our signature
event and lecture series, ARThouse[06]. Wednesday, January 25.
Opening Gala for Patrons. This year's most dynamic event will be
ArtHouse[06]. The AGA galleries will create a beautiful and stunning
installation in a newly constructed, never before seen 11,000 square
foot mansion on Glen Devon Drive (map & directions). The installation
will feature paintings, sculpture, photography, and other works
of art.

Atlanta Celebrates Photography –
Wednesday, February 1 Collectors Series Lecture - Anne Wilkes Tucker,
the Curator of Photography at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, a
2001 edition devoted to "America's Best," TIME magazine
honored her as "Americas Best Curator."
Citywide Gallery Openings: Friday,
February 3 - Sunday, February 5 What was once a one-evening event
has become three days of gallery openings throughout the city. AGA
members realized that people needed more time to get to all 33 of
the galleries, Visit www.atlart.com for specific gallery hours.
Art Start – Children's Day in
the Galleries: Saturday, February 11 Participating AGA galleries
open their doors welcoming families back to attend this popular
event. Each gallery involved in Art Start will offer a children’s
art/craft project as AGA works to bring the arts to everyone and
make art lovers out of Atlanta’s youth. For a full listing,

Closing Event - Art Papers Art Auction
Saturday, February 11, 7:00-10:00pm. The final event of ATLart[06],
this annual silent art auction features premier and emerging contemporary
artists from across the United States. ATLart[06] takes place in Museums,
Galleries and Alternative Art Spaces throughout Atlanta.
