The association's signature event will commence on Saturday evening, May 5, with a festive private gala opening party for ARThouse[07] in the eagerly anticipated "Castle on Nottingham", a 12,000 sq.ft newly constructed home located at 1640 Nottingham Way in the Sherwood Forest/Ansley Park area. Works from each of the 22 AGA member galleries as well as vignettes from museum and non-profit partners will be on display. "ARThouse[07] will give visitors the chance to see the depth and breadth of Atlanta's impressive visual arts community under one roof," said Susan Gibbs, president of the Atlanta Gallery Association and owner of Twinhouse Gallery. ARThouse[07] will be open 10 -5 Wednesday-Sunday through Memorial Day weekend. Patron's packages, available for purchase in April, will include a choice of membership to several of AGA's museum partners, a years' subscription to Atlanta Magazine (the exclusive media sponsor), and much more!

The newly-created ATLart Foundation has been established through the AGA in support of the nine City of Atlanta public high school visual art programs. Funds raised through the sale of Patrons Packages as well as General Admission tickets to the ARThouse[07] will be distributed annually in the form of grants to each area high school. "We are very excited to lend our support in hopes of fostering a new generation of artists, collectors and art professionals," Gibbs said.

Among the activities planned under the ATLart[07] umbrella will be the Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association (ADNA) festival and loft tour and juried art show in the Fairlie-Poplar district the weekend of May 19 - 21. City-wide gallery openings will be distributed over Fridays, May 4th and 11th with the Castleberry Hill district opening Friday, May 18. The culmination of the month's activities will be the well-attended Decatur Arts Festival over Memorial Day weekend.
